Where are you staying?
The Westin

What day are you getting there?
Sometime in the evening, July 1.

Who will you be rooming with?
[info]nius and others

Do you do free art?
Provided I'm not busy, yes.

Do you do trades?
Hell yes. My sketchbooks are sad and empty.

Do you do commissions?
Yes. Talk to me after the con.

Do you have prints / CDs ?
Prints yes, CDs no. Talk to me after the con.

Do you do badges?
Yes. Talk to me after the con.

Will you have Art in the Art Show?
YES.

What is your gender?
Female.

How old are you?
Old enough to know better.

Are you taken?
Yes, married five years to [info]nius.

Can I talk to you?
Yes, but please understand I'm a staff member. If I'm running around doing con-work, or on camera for an event, I am probably going to ignore you.

Can I touch you?
Please ask first, unless you're someone I already know. I tend to bite when startled.

Can I hang out with you?
If I'm not busy with con-work or, um, sleeping, sure I guess.

How can I find you?
My badge name is Zannah. I am, to my knowledge, the only girl on the video crew. This means I will be wearing a garish purple vest with reflective striping on it during portions of the con. =D It's hard to miss. Otherwise I'm of average height, slender build, brown hair, brown eyes, and glasses... like any number of other artist-fems out there. =D

Other cons I may go to:
Midwest FurFest

Some doodles done in the car on the way home from AC. Also, I ended up with a pencil pouch that got left on the Tower of Tech. Someone found it during strike and handed it to me. I forgot I had it and Ops closed before I had a chance to turn it in. So if anybody from AV happens to know who it belongs to, send them my way.

Official Video at AC

I keep seeing this incorrect assumption over and over:

"Anthrocon hires an outside professional video crew and rents all the equipment for them to film the official con videos" and "There's no way AC will let normal fans or volunteers help with the official video"

To set the record straight from my own PoV:

AC is NOT hiring an outside crew to do the video. While we're flattered you think we're paid professionals, we, the folks who work on that self-same video crew, are FANS. That's right, we're furries just like the rest of you. All of us. We don't get paid a thing for what we do. The lion's share of the equipment we use to film the video is privately owned by Cheetah, and that includes the TV truck that hauls it to the convention.

What's more, if you're interested in helping (which means getting to play with those lovely big cameras), PLEASE come forward! I've been running a camera and goforing for the AC shoot since 2005. These last couple years we've run ourselves ragged trying to make sure we have enough people to cover each shoot and still allow time for people to eat and sleep. Think about it, folks. If they could teach ME how to run a professional TV camera in under ten minutes, anyone can learn it. XDD

Just a couple things as the con draws near...

1. Arrival: Nius and I driving up on Wednesday the 4th. Should be there sometime in the afternoon, depending on traffic. We'll be hanging out with a friend in the area until that evening when we'll drive over to the hotel. As far as I know, we have the same room we had last year, though we'll see for sure when we get there. I believe we're not leaving until Tuesday after the con as well.

2. Con Staff: While I'm a very friendly person, I'm also working for the con. I'm part of the video crew, so I'm liable to be busy with cameras, cables, and running things to people. If I look busy, chances are, I am. Don't be offended if I can't stop and chat. I'll gladly talk your ear off later when I'm *not* busy.

3. Costuming: Yes, I am a costumer. I tend to spend a great deal of my con-time in spandex. =D

4. Requesting Sketches: No, not a dealer this year either, nor do I expect to spend any time in artist's alley. I will, however, have my supplies with me, and I will have pieces in the art show (Buy them! =D). If you can catch me in a spare moment, though, and ask me very nicely, I will happily add a doodle to your sketchbook (yes, for free). Understand that I reserve the right to turn people down and will not guarantee a sketch for anyone who asks. I don't know how busy I will be, or how much free time will be left when I'm not. I REALLY don't want to spend my few free hours hunched over a pile of sketchbooks doing unpaid work (and no, you can't offer me money for it; that's against the rules and I won't do it). So I'll probably take a max of five sketch requests (first come, first serve) at the con and leave it at that.

5. Art Trades: Trades are cool! Don't know how many of these I'll be up for, because, again, it depends on how busy things get. Will have to see how things pan out.

6. Personal Contact: While I'm a very tactile person by nature, I do NOT like being pounced out of nowhere, especially by people I don't know in person. Please! Introduce yourself first at least. Ask before glomping me. Hugs are cool, but I like to have a bit of advance warning. Scritching and backrubs, again, please hold off if I don't know you well or we've not met in person before.

7. Flirting: I'll be the first to admit, I'm a tease, especially while in costume. To put it bluntly, though, I am not the least bit interested in hooking up with anyone at the con. I am married, and my husband ([info]nius) will be there as well. Even if I wasn't, I don't do casual yiff and the rest of the AV crew are more than happy to play Brute Squad for me if necessary. So please save yourself the trouble and don't ask. The answer's going to be no.

Ok, I think that about covers it. ^_^ Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
