Dreamy Dreamness

Ok, I often don't recall my dreams from the night before, and when I do they're rarely clear in my mind. This one stuck out. c.c

I was working on a production of "Twilight: The Musical" (which, ohgod, already appears to exist on teh intarwebs x_x) with [info]tichan and [info]lanna_kitty. It wasn't anything like the books, but somehow I knew that's what we were doing. Except that parts of my costume kept disappearing, and then (because I was playing a vampire and ALL vampires must of course wear tight, low cut things in black that lace up) right before the last scene in rehersal, we discovered someone had cut the laces on my corset! The horror! So [info]lanna_kitty heroically jumped in with my lines at the cue while [info]tichan and I frantically searched for new corset lacing. And then I woke up, somewhat miffed that I had missed the big final number.

...I didn't say it made sense, just that I remembered it. c.c;

Dream psyche

Sometimes your dreams tell you a bit more about yourself than perhaps you were interested in knowing. Most of my dreams are not vivid. I dream in sepia tones, almost like an old movie or photograph, and there's usually a fog that covers far distances (like PS1 generation game systems would generate, now that I think about it). My "render distance" isn't usually very far, but I remember last night's dream like I usually don't.

There was a battle ranging along the length of a narrow ditch with a stream at the bottom. It wasn't modern warfare, just bows, arrows, swords and the like. I remember sticking close to my side's commander (who I don't much remember other than the fact she was female) and talking about the stupidities of war. The ditch and stream were a demarkation separating two kingdoms, both of them claiming it belonged to them. We spoke about how it was really fear that motivated the fighting, fear that if one side or the other claimed the stream as their own, they might use it as an excuse to take more land. Our side, we knew, wouldn't do such a thing, but the other side might do it if they gained control (and vice versa, I assume) so we fought.

The second reason for the fighting was an artifact, a book of prophesy (it had a gryphon on the cover) that I carried. It was nothing more than nonsense and silly superstition, but the enemy commander believed otherwise, and was prepared to stop at nothing to have it in his possession. I remember him taunting me from their lines, though I can't remember what was said. I pulled out a bow and took a shot at him, but the distance was too great and the arrow was mostly spent by the time it reached him. It did bounce off his chestplate quite dramatically, though. There was a blur of fighting after that, and then a lull. I'm not sure exactly how the segue worked, but next thing I knew I was facing the enemy commander again...
